Hey im looking to upgrade my graphic card to support the latest games. Don't really know much about computer parts so yea.
My current setup:
-MSI H87-G43 gaming mainboard
-Intel i5-4440
-kingston 8gb ram
-gigabyte r9 270x
-corsair CX600m power

The gtx 1050ti has been recommended for me, but im also thinking of getting the 1060 as it has good reviews. Would it be worth to add on the extra $100 for the 1060 3gb? I know both cards would make a significant difference from my current one, but how much of a difference would i see if i got the 1060 instead of the 1050ti? I just want to be able to run the latest games on the highest graphics. And also, would my current setup be able to handle those cards? Thanks!

If you're going for the GTX1060, you should look no less than the 6GB version. If you're going to be gaming at 1080p alone, then the GTX1050Ti is plenty of horsepower. The difference would be different from game title to game title. So this leads me to ask, what games are you planning on playing? We can't speak for the future, mind you.

Just be sure to update your motherboard BIOS if there are any latest BIOS revisions to ensure maximum compatibility. BTW, how old is your PSU?

A bicycle would support you going to the store, but so would a motorcycle. And that's the basic difference between the cards. With a 1050ti you could expect med-high settings on almost all games at playable fps. The 1060 will get ultra on many, at least very high on most all others at playable fps. But this is dependent on exactly how tight you want to push the settings and what you consider playable fps on what games. At 1080p, neither card is bad, but if you are wanting 60fps at ultra settings on most games, the 1050ti will come up short.

Mostly games like dishonored 2, fallout 4 battlefield 1 etc. Hmm my psu is coming to about 3 years old. Just something good enough to run games on ultra at playable fps.
