Story is, my PC would crash due to high temps (or so I thought), the CPU temperature being 80c while idle, now its at around 30 while idle with my new cpu cooler (coolermaster hyper 212 evo) and after renewing the thermal paste, however the random crashes persist while playing games, I'm at a dead end, any help is appreciated.

Thanks

What cpu and were you loading it down when the idle temps were at 80c?

If so, most chips can run at a delta of 30-50c which would have toasted your chip, as in you could have put it in a toaster for the same effect. That's pretty cut and dry.

No blue screens, its just a random black screen and my pc wont do anything until I reboot it.

It should have done a dump file in the background. The black screen is your graphics driver stalling out. It may actually still be doing stuff in the background.

My guess by loading it down you mean using it when the temps were at that, and not as much, just to see if temps were same after renewing thermal paste, thing is when I still had my old cpu cooler and I changed my thermal paste, while putting it back on I found out it had a deformed piece which was holding it down, so it wouldnt let the heatsink press down all the way, causing it to throttle and my games and programs would lag badly.

Where can I check this dump file and how can I stop my graphics driver from stalling out
