Doubt about Gtx 1050 and Rx470 performance.

Hi i try to search on internet an answer but i cant find it so i hope that you could helpme please.

Recently I bought a GTX 1050 2gb MSI, after a month I got bored of the video card and I sold buying an RX470 MSI. My question is this: Why i had better performance with the GTX 1050 if the rx 470 is better. The game that i use for test the Fps rate was GTA V.

Is it because RX470 have more requirements and I have a greater bottleneck?

My Specs:

Cpu: Amd A8 6600k
MB: F2A85-M LE
RAM: 8GB 2x4GB
PS: EVGA 600B
GPU: MSI RX470 4GB

Its your cpu, in my sig rig I can max gta with around 70+fps never dipping below 60fps. Nvidia also do better in drivers with cpu usage, if you have a low end cpu your probably better with nvidia atm, something not much spoken about but definitely true.

First, GTA V is CPU as well as GPU dependent. So it's not just about the videocard. Next, you have an APU, not a gaming CPU. It's possible that your APU will get you about the highest framerate you're going to see on GTA V with the 1050, and the RX 470 extra performance won't matter in that game. Finally, Nvidia do generally perform a bit better in GTA V from what I've seen.

I suggest you run 3dmark so you can compare your score with others who have a similar APU/GPU combo. That way you'll get an independent confirmation that your system is running properly.

cpu bottleneck

you cant just simply add more gpu power when the cpu is not powerful enough to keep up



the 470 is a lot more powerful, you just cant make use of it with your current setup on a cpu bound game like gta5
