Hi. Im experiencing clock watchdog timeout on my newly built pc.

Asus prime x370 pro

Amd ryzen 7 1700

Corsair vengeance ddr4 2x8gb 2666mhz c16

Msi rx480 8gb

Corsair cx750m

Corsair h110i

Im totally lost on this one. No overclocking done. Windows reinstalled. Updated chipset. But still no luck.

Can anyone help me?

Solution
I encountered the same problem with Asus B350M-A and Ryzen 1700X.
Aside from having stability issues the CPU was also getting hotter than expected, 55 C idle with CM Hyper T4.

It turned out that the latest BIOS version was to blame. After reverting to older BIOS version all the problems got resolved. There are no sudden freezes or Blue Screens with Clock_Watchdog_Timeout error. Also temps are back in the normal range, around 44 C idle.

Have you made sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date? Did you rule out a corrupt installer and recreated your bootable USB installer for Windows 10? It's possible that the ram is causing an issue with the platform but just make sure your BIOS is up to date.

I'm having the exact same issue. But looking at the approved memory list, my memory (2 x 8gb Corsair DDR4 - 2666mhz LED) isn't on the list. Looking at your list, I see we may have the exact same memory, and thus, the exact same issue. I'm in the midst of doing a memtest, but I'm going to guess it's most likely fine.

Ryzen 7 1700
Asus X370 Prime Pro Motherboard
Sapphire R9 390X 8gb
Corsair H60
Corsair 750W PSU

I also updated the bios from 0502 to 0504 and no real difference.

Hi All,

I recently built my Ryzen 1700 system hand have been plagued by random freezes. The system completely freezes and I see a BSOD CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT error and the system reboots.

I had it running fine for a while but it started all over again. Now it's happening at around 5 mins into booting into windows (not an exact timeframe).

Have updated the BIOS to 1.2 (1.3 is not recognised when I try to flash for some reason). Re-installed Windows, updated all drivers but yet see this. No overclocking, even running at 2133 Mhz memory.

I am a photographer and need this system to continue my work and this after spending so much money is not really helping nor is giving me any confidence.

Any help, diagnostic steps I need to take will be greatly appreciated. I'm not an expert on computer components or troubleshooting.

My specs:

AMD Ryzen 7 1700
MSI B350 Tomahawk MoBo
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 (not on the recommended list)
Seagate 2 TB HDD
Saphhire Rx 460 GPU
450W PSU

Thanks,
Prad

I'm having the same issue. My pc crashes and freezes randomly, says clock-watchdog-timeout and that. I updated the motherboard bios the other day but still, no luck. I have a r5 1600 with a msi b350m bazooka and a msi gtx 1060 gaming x, and corsair vengance lpx 3200 8gb ram. This is my first build so i don't really know much of what to do.

Edit: never mind, seems that i had some problem with some drivers or something. Re installed windows and it's working fine now.

I have the same issue using windows 10 pro 64 bits.Never installed enterprise version. My processor is the Rysen 5 1600, my mobo os Asus Crosshair VI Hero and I also have a Radeon RX470. Just 4Gb DDR4 memory.
I tried memtest and other memory tests and all came ok. I changed my Hard Drive and installed windows again and the problem continuous. I installed the mobo drivers, than uninstalled.. problem continuous.
It's my first game computer and i can't stay more than 10 minutos on. It frozes and than the blue screen appears with the message clock watchdog timeout. I have no overclock or else. I'm desperate.. don't know what to do. I really need it to work as well. I don't even know if it's hardware or software this problem.
Someone knows what else to do?
