hi,
im building my pc and i plan on i5 7600 with a b250 motherboard.
I want to know if i can use corsair vengeance 3000mhz with this processor .The motherboard also supports upto 2400mhz.
im getting 16gb (2x8gb) 3000mhz in a very good deal , much cheaper the 2133mhz/2400mhz.

should i buy it?

Solution
It will run at 2400 no faster. No reason to buy 3000 MHz ram for that setup but it will work. Not sure why he's saying it'll run at 2133 kaby lake and the 2** chipset natively support 2400 speed ram

You can use any frequency of ram on your platform but the maximum memory(due to chipset limitations) will be 2133MHz. Are you buying them used? If so, might be worth thinking twice since stuff shouldn't be sold for cheap unless they have a serious flaw with them. Moving on, You can populate DDR4-3000 rams into your board but the effective frequency will be 2133MHz.

Mind sharing what your build is looking like at this moment of time?
