Hey guys, i pre-ordered Wild lands the other week. The game came out today and ive been playing it for about an hour. I am pretty much trying to force myself to play through the lag as i got from about 70fps to 1 in about a second and it stays there for about 10 seconds. This happens with other games i have such as rust and forza horizon 3
my specs are

i5 6500
8GB DDR4 Gskill ram
GTX 1070 Strix oc
ASUS H170 Pro mobo
VX700 PSU

My cpu sits at 100% usage which i dont understand how because it sits above the minimum CPU for the game. If anyone has any answers please help me out, thanks!

Will it be a good idea to upgrade my CPU to play this game or is it an ssd thing? Im looking to buy a i7 7700 but was wondering if the parts i have now will run fine with it.

Any good liquid coolers you reccommend? I was thinking about the coolermaster seidon 120v. Btw my case is the Sharknoon t28. Would that be able to fit in my case? And do i have to purchase another fan just for the radiator? Sorry for asking so many questions ;)

It's probably just badly fitted and a £30 air cooler will just as good.

Can you please just tell us what the temps are.

IF those temps are correct then you are not throttling, but having an actual look and see would be useful.

Well, your system should have few, if any, issues (aside from perhaps issues with the game, as some other sites have shown users complaining during the beta). You have a top-tier CPU, a great GPU, & plenty of RAM. Which means something else is going on.

1. The CPU usage is a little troubling. Although it's apparently a demanding game, you shouldn't be constantly pegging at 100%. Have you checked to make sure that other processes aren't also running -- Chrome isn't open with a bunch of tabs, you're not trying to stream something in the background, etc.
2. Check your CPU & GPU temps. If either one is running too hot, it's going to throttle down, which will drop performance.
3. What is the make/model/wattage on that PSU? The closest I could find was possibly an "AeroCool VX-700", but if that's the type then it's either a 4th-tier PSU or not even on the tiers yet (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html). A sub-par PSU will have trouble providing all of the power that your CPU & GPU need, which could lead to performance issues.

My PSU is the Aerocool VX 700 and i dont run any other programs when playing have had close everything apart from the game and sometimes even my talking platform (discord). I use GPU tweak II boost setting to get less cpu usage and ram usage by closing unneeded processes.

Whats the best program to see cpu temps? Also this morning i noticed when i start my pc up my hard drive runs at 100% usage for about 10 mins or longer. It continues to run at 100% when i play the game aswell.
