Does anyone know if this cooler fits this mobo?

Hello,

So I've been having a lot of trouble, I recently got the Corsair H55 cooler for my maximus VIII Ranger, but it doesn't fit. So I'm going to go back into the shop I got it from, but I want to know if this will fit?
Corsair Hydro Series H80i v2 120mm CPU Liquid Cooler
It's one of the only other coolers they have in stock and I can't wait any longer. It's been over 3 weeks of problem after problem and I just want a working PC again.

Yes, it is compatible with socket LGA 1151, so the H80i should work with that mobo. But the H55 should have fit too.

It should have fit. So should the h80i v2. LGA1156/LGA1155/LGA1150/LGA1151 are all the same specification and mechanical mounting.

What exactly isn't fitting?

Yeah, that's why I got it. But the backplate doesn't fit around the processor, so you can't put it in properly.

I've got it infront of me now, I was trying just a minute ago.

this for the h80i http://www.corsair.com/en-eu/hydro-series-h80i-v2-high-performance-liquid-cpu-cooler yes and the h 55 also fit in http://www.corsair.com/en-us/hydro-series-h55-quiet-cpu-cooler so check the way you did install it and did you took the right back plate for intel .

I have a picture, but my dad and brother have both tried to install it as well as me. The backplate is blocked by some of the components around the processor.

No, not yet. We wanted to test it would fit first. But it doesn't sit them high enough off of the actual mono to clear these obstacles anyway.

I believe you have misunderstood the idea of a "Backplate" it goes on the other side of the motherboard behind the CPU. If you can't access the back side of the motherboard, you will have to remove the board to install the backplate.

that plate goes on the back of the board read user booklet carefully also clean the old paste with isopropylic alcool before putting new one on you could there could be paste on the new cooler .
