Hi, so I have a problem with my headset microphone as it doesn't pick up any sounds, but white noise and was told that it's not compatible with the HD audio and to flash my motherboard to AC'97. I had a look at the website and asked uncle google, but couldn't find any links or drivers. So is there an option to actually to do it?

Nope. Your motherbd supports both formats and so the final determination is made by the type of audio header (from the case) that you plug into the motherbd's connector.
Many cases come with both types of connectors (on the same wires) so if you want ac97 then you plug in that connector
By the way, I don't believe your issue is which type of connector you have plugged in.
