So.. ive had the fx 8350 for a while.. paired with an R9 390 and crucial ballistix 8GB ram. I get like 60 FPS max on games which i expect to run easily like minecraft.. and even worse i have to play arma 3 Atlis life mod on medium with settings lowered to get like 40 fps. the fx 8350 from my researching is just a bad CPU, so even if it doesnt help it'll be good for the long run. And btw i game on a crappy 720p haier monitor i got for 50 bucks from PC richards. i dont mind that too much but it should show how bad my PC is performing. i bought all the parts last year (over a year ago) from amazon and built the whole thing myself. dont know where the problem is coming from at all but running bench marks and all it seems normal.. i have a hyper T4 which isnt the best cooler. but my bitfenix neo has it to where u cant add a cpu cooler unless u take out the whole motherboard, so i chose the easy route. if anyone has any ideas to what the problem is please help me out. Thank YOU! and im planning on buying the i5 6600k new case, mobo, ram, cpu cooler so it'll be quite pricey

Solution
The MB ( ga970a d3p) has lower power phase count ( 4+1), and the fx 8350 is the factory oced version fx8320. So I think the MB may have problem to keep up the fx8350.
You can try go into the BIOS, and disable two or three cores, and try play the games again. You may get better games performances. Usually we recommend to buy more power phase count MB, like ga 970a ud3p, MSI 970 gaming, or other 990 chipset MB for the fx 8 cores cpu. But it is too late now, because don't add more $$ on the AM3+ system, it is too old. Try buy the small fan to cool the VRMs.

Also if you had the lower power phase count AM3+ MB, you may try use other small fan to cool down the VRMs section, like in the link...
