Bioware has said that the recommended gpu is 1060 3gb, but recommended for what? 1080p?
I was wondering with a heavily oc 980 ti will i be able to run 1440p 60 locked? and could i run 4k 30

Requirements don't really have a scale, its just whatever the developer decides a lot of times with no reasoning given, I often find stated system requirements for a game to be just flat out wrong or very vague.

I really don't know how Andromeda will perform, we will find out when it launches. It is however running a very heavily edited version of the frostbite engine from the battlefield games, so if that is any indication of performance (which it very well may not be) yes I would expect a 980 ti to achieve 1440p at least 60fps at max settings or close to it. Not sure about 4k but if it will run 1440p 60 or better it would likely do 4k 30.

Because the game has not yet been released, we wont know for sure till we play first hand.

For all we know the game could be horribly optimised but its unlikely.

The 1060 was recommended for 1080p, a 980Ti should run it on 1440p fine but whether it will be in high graphics will have to be decided on launch :)

Adding to what Dunlop said, the Frostbite engine has so far been pretty great. Battlefield 4 and Need For Speed 2016 has some pretty awesome graphics, after a little patching the optimisation was great.

I guess we just need to wait and see.
