Radeon HD 7770 1GD5 Blue Screen after installing drivers

Hey guys!
My old PC had an Asus M2A-VM motherboard + AMD Athlon 64 x2 4600 + Geforce 9500 GT (1G) + 2GB DDR2 RAM which was dual channeled by having two of same 1GB RAM sticks.
I just wanted to make use of it while my laptop is being repaired! So I got these two 2GB RAM sticks with different brands and frequencies for free, so I installed them alongside my old 2 ram sticks and checked that every thing would just work fine. And so it did. (right now Cumulatively: 2+2+1+1 GB = 6 GB RAM)
Afterwards, I got Radeon HD 7770 1GD5 and installed it instead of my Geforce 9500GT. But since then, as I install any version of drivers for this card , I will get a Blue Screen as soon as the driver is installed and my windows restarts. So I have to start my windows back in safe mode and uninstall the driver.

I tested both windows 7 and 10, 32-bit and 64-bit and both crimson drivers and old-non-crimson drivers published by AMD, but every time I face the same problem!
I wonder if this VGA is incompatible with my CPU, Motherboard or is it caused by the RAM sticks. I checked it on a website and I found it compatible but I'm not sure about it's accuracy. I haven't tested removing some of RAM sticks yet, but I will let you know what happened if I did!

I know that this VGA is gonna be bottle-necked by the CPU and other factors too, but it's kind of irritating not to know what is causing this. And I need to use this card for at least a couple months. So any kind of help from you guys will be appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your time

Boot into Safe Mode, and delete the Display Adapters from Device Manager. Reboot into safe mode to ensure that Standard VGA is listed. Boot into Normal Mode, uninstall all Nvidia, and AMD graphics drivers. Reboot once more, install one of the older lagecy Radeon drivers. I would say version 14 era due to the age of your card.

Hi there!
Thanks, but I have already tried that. I have tested different driver versions from different eras; 13-12, 14-4, 15-7,15-7-1 17-2-1 .... none of them makes any changes and I still get a Blue Screen!
I should also say, it is only when the basic windows driver for VGAs is installed that the windows will start properly in normal mode. But when I install drivers, I get the blue screen!

Download the program BluescreenViewx64 and use it to read your dump files. That should give you the exact file that is causing your BSOD, and you can then make a better decision regarding what direction to take.

I found that the file named: "atikmpag.sys" has caused the BSOD!
Now what is it exactly? can I fix it?

Here are my Dump Files, if it helps you understand better what's causing this!

Please help, I have tried the every method in this answer too, and I still get the same problem:

That file is part of the Radeon driver suite. It's the kernel mode driver. You could try this which I found in another thread:
1) Uninstall your AMD drivers through the Control Panel.

2) Download Driver Sweeper by Guru3D - http://www.guru3d.com/files_get/display_driver_uninstal... (Wait 5 seconds, then the download will start.

3) Save the downloaded file to your Desktop.

4) Boot into Safe Mode and run the file downloaded.

5) Select AMD as your graphics driver, then click on the Highly Recommended option.

6) Your PC will boot normally, download AMD's latest Catalyst drivers when you search for drivers by GPU family and install them.

Or you can start in safe mode, and see if you can look through the Event Viewer for anything in your System event log that deals with atikmpag.sys Anti-Virus such as Windows Defender can sometimes cause issues.

Thank you Rhinofart, I just tested this driver sweeper, though I couldn't download driver using this app (if you meant so), but I installed the 17.2.1 Feb driver again after sweeping the previous drivers and I still get a BSOD!
I looked into the event viewer too but I couldn't find anything more relevant than this!
I am really concerned that it may not be really because of the drivers, maybe this card is not compatible with one of the ram sticks? Mainboard? or CPU? 'Cause I've already tried almost Anything about drivers!! installing and uninstalling different version through different ways!! None of them works! It's really killing me! Would a hardware conflict or a bad part cause such a problem?

Yes, a bad part could cause something like that. The most likely culprit would be the Video Card. Use the driver sweeper to remove all radeon, and try putting your 9500GT back in.

Hey buddy! thanks for your quick responses! It really means a lot!!
I just removed my ram sticks as I told you they were different than each other. So apparently, each 2G of them works perfectly with the VGA! but together... BSOD!! :D I really doubted that this could be the reason! But it was indeed!
I really appreciate your help! I gues I should now try to find a new ram stick with the same frequencies! I don't know, is there still a way that I can use these two classes of Rams toghether with a lower frequency? By changing the settings in the bios for example?
Just for the record, I had these three different ram sticks installed:

That's the strangest thing I've heard of. :pt1cable: The RAM sticks should all adjust to the common speed settings between them all. But Yay!!! No more BSOD.
