I dont believe i am getting the correct frames with my build and new msi rx 480 8 gb

Yes my system is as follows

Amd - 8370 4 ghz turbo 4.3
mobo - asus m5a99fx r2.0
GPU AMD rx 480 8 gb
HDD - 1 500 gb ssd, 1 120 gb ssd and 1 3 tb hdd
Psu- corsair 750 watt
24 gigs of ddr3 1600 mhz ram* originally said r4

Now with that being said ive been getting low frames since my r7 370 on my main HD the 500 gb ssd well i had to go over to my ssd with a different copy of windows 10 in my 120 gb ssd, and im still getting the same performance well no not really but my frames were like 15-20 with the msi disk graphics installed (i saw a post where a guy fixed his exact same issue by installing straight from amd which is what i did) and man did i see an increase 10-20 frames i can play wildlands which just came out today on high with a low of 24 fps and a high of 38 not to bad for high, but the results for each high medium and low were the same as it was on my main hd with the msi graphics on it i wish i knew how to get them off correctly and oh i have afterburner on both hard disks but the after burner on this 120 gb well it doesn't register squat. Please help this is where i look to for all my answers maybe somethings wrong with my configurations im not sure but if i run binary domain and only get 9 freaking FPS we have a problem a big one still. - Ill update after launching it. Please help because i should be around at least 45-60 fps range with this set up.

the funny thing is afterburner shows nothing but normal gpu temps and nothing more and the cpue is coming off of being under load so its 48-50 c right now i was gaming, but the cpu temp above mobo is 70 but that cant be right. Its something with the motherboard. And as far as I know all of my cores run when i am gaming

install amd overdrive and check your cpu thermal margins while playing


it will throttle at over 60 degrees, giving you shit performance in games



also dont expect benchmark numbers from your 480, the cpu is not good enough

Amd overdrive shows me you do not know what you're talking about exactly (no im not insulting you i found two other people with the exact setup playing wildlands just fine.
) I get better clocking from afterburner My friend like i stated same build same games better frames. He just has liquid cooler. Im thinking i got a bad motherboard and why is that? The ai suite acts out of whack getting cpu cetermeide over 80 celsius the vram and voltages acting up and giving me warning my last board which was the same didnt do this.

and everything from you checking your cpu thermals while playing

use amd overdrive to check if this is happening

thus explaining your shit performance compared to your friend


who has better cpu cooling than you do

my friend obviosuly i use cryorig m90a with two noctua 92s mm 200 rpm fans my friends go the coolermaster liquid pro and my other friend has the Antec KUHLER H2O 1250 Water/Liquid CPU Cooler 240MM i too have a 120 pro liquid by cooler master but the last liquid cooling unit blew its load and messed up my cpu and mobo which is why i replaced it i didnt have nay problems really until the new mobo, but i never installed the ai suite on the other board. And temps as usual 61 in game maxed, and cpu is 49-55c now the cpu above motherboard is like 65-80 almost and the mobo temp itself is 37. Somethings wrong and ive looked up centermeide i have no clue what that is. I know it gets hot as a mofo in here but its that centermeide cause my cpu is set to cut off at 75c set it that way. ill download over drive but will that conflict with afterburner or msi gaming app?

Those screenshots were quickly alt tabbed and got then i went back into game, im also a streamer so i know that puts some load seeing as i use the amd hardware to stream instead of software.

Like i said i will go water cooled tomorrow and heaven forbid it leaks, but if that still shows the same temps its the damned board. Cause i had the same exact setup 3 months ago beside the 480 i had an r7 370 and everything was fast and cool then i had to rma my board cause of the liquid cooler damaged it and ive been stuck with this one ever since, I dont have another PC capable of running the games i need to and the manufacturer doesnt know when they will have any more of my motherboard in stock. So i pray its the cooling,, yes i know the cpu gets hot i also dont have a side panel hole for an exhaust fan so i have the side off. My air flow goes from front to back and out the top my case if wondering is a deepcool tessarect sw red. Still not sure if this is the fix we shall see. But cxonsidering my last melt down with a water cooler im nervous and who the f down voted me? This is a serious issue especially when i paid serious cash.

Shouldn't you be looking at the core temps? You keep looking at the "CPU" and "Package", but the core temps are the ones that matter most. Must be an AMD thing with HWmonitor. I think that's why the other guy recommended you to use AMD's tool.

im thinking now its definitely motherboard or cpu related its as hot in here as it was with an air cooler, now obviously on startup im around 10-17 c whereas on air im 28-35 then i gradually increase, but i didnt have anything opened but obs steam razer cortex and the game along with msi gaming app and it still hot as ever it gradually builds up to this my whole case well backside is hot my damn liquid cooling unit the radiator will burn you ( its never been that ever in all my times using water cooled systens. :( https://gyazo.com/7c997fc317d30acf914d1925f31270d5

You aren't showing the core temps under load. The CPU and Package, in the previous SS seemed to be way too hot. Since you seem to refuse to want to show us load core temps, I'm just going to assume as has already been said, your CPU is too hot and throttling. That in turn creates a CPU bottleneck.

Why do you think im refusing what do you want me to do, have the program running in the background? It will show you what you already know, but to satisfy that im doing all these repetitive things ill do it once my video is finished uploading and ill do it again but i have to alt tab i cant monitor it in game and dont say an overlay it will conflict with the overlay for wildlands (im using steams [ steam was interacting with uplay and it would crash every 15-30 minutes of play] and someone on the steamforum said turn off the uplay overlay and to turn of vsync, and viola it works no crash.) and crash it. I do also have a 6350 vishera and im thinking of testign it if lower temps its cpu if same temps its the board.
