So... i was looking for a SSHD from Seagate, but here in my town there's only the oldest version, the ST2000DX001. I know that there's a new one, the ST2000DX002 (aka Firecuda) and i was looking toward the difference between these two SSHDs and haven't found any major update (or did i miss something?).

Can anyone tell why shouldn't i buy the oldest one and wait for the Firecuda to arrive?

Newegg has the Dx02 for $99 (after promo code) if you can order in the next 3 days ... but to answer your question, I am not aware of any difference in the actual hardware between the firecuda and the old dx01 aside from the re-naming (from barracuda to firecuda) and the longer warranty for the firecuda

edit - upon further research, the Firecuda is also faster, peaking at just under 200mb/s sequential over the 150's of the previous model.
