Dead Ethernet port? What should I do?

Recently my Ethernet port does not seem to work. I tried a different wire that I know works with my friends computer and I updated the drivers which did not fix the issue. Every other connection on the back of my computer like usb and hdmi ports seem to work. The light for my Ethernet port does not light up like it used too as well.

Buy a network card, either PCI or PCI-e 1x depending on what slots your motherboard has free. That's like a $15 fix instead of a $100 new motherboard.

yes. what motherboard do you have. maek sure you have a pci slot free.

I would say that's a PCI-E 1x slot.
