Your main problem these days is going to be actually obtaining MS-DOS sound drivers as hardware manufacturer's stopped supplying them many years ago, there's just no demand for them any more.

it must be nearly 20 years ago when I had to learn how to add sound driver commands in DOS, way back when Windows was at v3.11. I doubt you'll find DOS sound drivers now, only perhaps from a friend if they kept any on a CD etc.
