Did I mess up 2 motherboards?

I was upgrading from an AM3 motherboard to an AM4 board for the new Rayzen processor.
New motherboard won't post so I put in my old setup back in and now it won't post. Fans and lights come on but screen is blank and no beeps.

I've gone through this list: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems and everything checks out.

I guess the big no-no that I did was sitting on carpet, but made sure to ground myself every time I touched something.

Do you think me sitting on carpet fried both motherboards, processors, and ram?

I did swap in a new power supply which didn't do anything as well trying onboard video on new MB.

I've been doing this for 15 years and this is my first problem :(

Everything in that checklist checks out? Ok. Have you tried breadboarding? Maybe there's a short in your case. Also check if the power cables are plugged in properly.

I find it unlikely that you fried your components just by sitting on the carpet, especially after you grounded yourself before touching any component.

Yes, everything on the check list checked out. Breadboarded both motherboards, both wouldn't post as well they were still connected to the case power switch wires though.

I suppose there could be some sort of short in the power switch wires, my computer would sometimes freeze up if my cat would rub up on the front of my computer case. I guess I'll breadboard it again without using the case power switch.

That sucks about the issue with the 2666Mhz ram, but doesn't explain why my other motherboard won't boot up anymore.

Thanks for the help.

These processors don't have on-board graphics. If you have another GPU or have access to another, it's worth a shot trying it in the build to cancel out the potential of the GPU being the issue.

Tried another gpu, no luck. I'll breadboard again and not use case power switch.

Fixed the old one, when I pulled the heatsink off, it pulled the processor out of the socket just enough for it not to make good contact.

New system still not sure, I would think with the ram removed, I would get some sort of beep though. I'm thinking this MB is dead.
