Dear experts,

I am going to have a new gaming rig based on ASROCK B250 PRO4 motherboard + GTX 1070 and need an advice with core I7 7700k or 7000. I am aware that 7700k is mostly for overclocking. So I am not going to overclock and choose ASROCK B250 PRO4. But as you know 7700k has better stock frequency 4.2 Hz vs 3.6 I7 7700.

So should I pay more and buy I7 7700k and use it in my build or stick with 7700 and it will be fine for me?

Thanks!

Can you please clarify why It won't give any benefit on B250 chipset? 7700k stock will be 4.2 on this chipset and 7700 3.6 am I right?

True, that is slightly cheaper even after the $5.49 shipping, but we are talking mere few dollar differences.

The i7-7700 will run at 3.6 Ghz base and 4.2 Ghz Turbo.
The i7-7700k will run at 4.2 Ghz base and 4.5 Ghz turbo.

There is a slight difference in performance, usually not justifiable for the price you're paying extra though.

And besides, you need to buy a custom CPU cooler with the i7-7700k. With the i7-7700 you can use the stock one that comes with it.

To be honest I doubt he acually lives in the US lol. But that being said, still need to buy a CPU cooler with the K aswell.

It will be around 40 dollars difference in my region and I have a huge NOCTUA CPU cooler since 2500k era. So I think that I should go with 7700k. Considering all listed above. What do you think?

$40 then imho sounds like a good investment...
(seeing non-K cpus are quite difficult to sell 2nd hand around here, let alone for decent price, when you decide to upgrade next time).

Get the 7700K if you plan on eventually upgrading to a better motherboard and look into overclocking. Otherwise 40 dollars more probably wouldn't be worth it.
