So I could OC my Procc to about 4GHz using this guide here http://www.overclock.net/t/1348623/amd-bulldozer-and-piledriver-overclocking-guide-asus-motherboard
The problem arises when I try to go above that to about 4.1 or 4.2 as I wish to OC it to 4.5GHz if possible. I don't get any errors, only the PC shuts down, restarts and takes me to BIOS to revert to the previous settings
Specifications
Motherboard: M5A97 Evo R2.0
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 3G OC
Ram: 8 gigs(different companies)
Hard drive: 2 tibs
Any help would would be appreciated

The CPU is capable of 4.5 with proper cooling and the MB is supposed to be great for overclocking.

That memory is not good and might be making everything unstable.
What CPU cooler are you using? What overclock settings?

Sorry for the downvote first, wasnt intended and I cant change it even
As for the cooler, I'm using Stock now but im planning on buy one of those swanky Coolermaster coolers and the OC settings are currently 4.0GHZ as its the only stable ones I can use because of the immense heat generation

When I OC'd to 4.2GHz, the temps went up to 80 C+ and then the PC shut down, is that a crash or a heat safety guard?
Also I'm buying a Cooler Master Hyper 212 to keep the temps down, is it good enough?
