Requesting help with first time build

So this is the set-up I put together. My father gave the first list of components, but he uses his pc for vastly different things. My goals are mainly competitive online gaming and video editing, the rest is just casual internet usage.

I've put together a list that gets close to 2,000Euro, since that's several hundred above my preferred budget, I'd like to hear some feedback.
Is this worth spending? Will this build last a decent time without needing upgrades? Is this the best I can get for this money (for my purposes)?
Thanks in advance

Well, It looks like you've picked some items twice.
If you look at the left column, total price will actually be 1173.20 which seems fair to me.
The build seem good for me, but you have choosen one power supply to much, personally I would choose a cheaper 500W unit, for example
https://www.alternate.nl/Xilence/Performance-C-XP500-500-Watt-voeding/html/product/1165308?lk=9304
or this 600W
https://www.alternate.nl/Xilence/Performance-C-XP600-600-Watt-voeding/html/product/1165309?lk=9304
In this case pricing would be 1093.30
Also are you ordering from Alternate? Usually their prices are pretty fair.

Oh, my bad! I wanted to go for the 500W version first but the website gave an error and said the power supply would be insufficient for the build? That's why I chose the 700W and forgot the remove the other one. Truth be told I'd have no idea whether it is enough or not.

I would be ordering from them, yes. They have a store relatively nearby.

Edit: this is embarassing, I only noticed that I ordered half the components twice after you mentioned it. The website weirded out on me a couple of times. Since I'm really several hundred below my budget and not above it, what would you improve in my position?

I can suggest switching a few components out for some alternatives i am not sure if all is available where you are located but i would suggest picking up a GTX 1060 depending on pricing as they are superior in performance to the 480, and maybe push for the unlocked varient of the CPU so you can do some overclocking in future if you needed to.

I have made a list of a few suggestions for you, hope it helps :)

If you want the unlocked cpu for overclocking, you should get a motherboard with a different chipset that actually supports overclocking, because as far as I konw the B250 does not.

You could also look for a different brand motherboard, not saying that AsRock isn't good, but i'm not a big fan of them and think they are somewhat overrated. Gigabyte is definitely a good choice, or Biostar if you want to stay low budget.

If you want to improve, you could get a better cpu as well, like a i7 7700k. But keep in mind that upgrading the cpu and gpu involves additional costs you may have not tought of before, i.e. you will need a more powerful psu, better cooling, etc. It really depends on your budget and application, because the overall cost might increase rapidly, despite not adding a lot of performance.

In my opinion, staying under a certain budget is never a bad thing, and the current system already seems to be quite solid.

You don't gain anything by having a 850 Evo on a M2 slot when you still have a SATA HDD. It's still a SATA based device, and the M2 slot is better served by a NVMe device like the Intel 600p (or a 960 Evo/Pro if you prefer Samsung).
