So late 2015 I built a gaming/photo editing computer. I put it in my old case, it fits ok and keeps it all cool. Now times have changed and I need to be more portable. I was wondering what options I had to go more portable. Mostly I travel by car but I occasionally fly. I dont care about lightness as much as compact.

Devils Canyon i5-4690k
Coolermaster 212 Evo
MSI z97 Gaming 5 ATX
MSI 970 gtx Gaming 4g
G Skill Trident X 16gb 2400
EVGA SuperNOVA 850w
Western Digital Blue 1tb

I was thinking about using a SSD and having optical and HDD external for space.

Any suggestions are welcome. I dont really want to sell it or trade it, but also dont have the money to get a laptop. I couldnt see the point in getting a latop and this anyway.

If your memory is a 2*8gb kit ignore this memory. If it's a 4*4gb kit you only have 2 memory slots on the itx board so you'll have to decide between ,8gb or a 2*8gb kit.

You can sell all of the matching parts for your big build and probably come out not real far behind

For the size of that case I could add on about 2in all around and stick with what I have. Thanks for the ideas though. Ill keep looking into them and see what I come up with.

Thermaltake Core G3 (5.5 ; 14.6 ; 17.9). I guess the heights 3in. There also the silverstone gd09 (6.69 ; 14.09 ; 17.32), which the width is 3in but the depth is only 1in.

I know Lian Li makes some tiny cases too, just dont feel like paying that much.

The other downside to that MOBO is 2 RAM slots at max 16gb. For now that'd be fine but future proofing for my photo and occasional video editing Id want more (Its not uncommon to already see 32gb or even 64gb in systems already)

I am looking at that CPU cooler though. I am getting annoyed with looking at the EVO212. Works great, looks terrible.

Any suggestions on monitor?

I was thinking of getting either a tenkeyless keyboard, a keyboard with a trackpad or looking into laser projection keyboards (I remember seeing these years ago).
