i want to build a budget gaming rig and i am confused with ram selection.
i would use my rig just for gaming purpose.
1.should i go for ddr3 ram or ddr4?
2.which would perform better?
3.i have heard from a friend that ddr4 is very delicate and not so trustworthy they break down easily....is this really true?

please!guys i need the answers to these questions asap.
Prices of both RAM types are almost equal in INDIA.

Solution
1. Depends on your motherboard and CPU Socket

2. DDR4

3. This is not a correct statement. DDR4 RAM is equally as resilient as DDR3 in my experience.

DDR4 is the new version, but is more expensive than DDR3. Though DDR4 has a much higher transfer rate. I have a motherboard that is 9 years old using DDR3, so if i was upgrading, or starting afresh, PERSONALLY I would go with a MOBO that is DDR4.

I have recently upgraded my main rig to a DDR4 platform and i can say its worth the step-up for sure, and no there is no difference in the resilience of DDR4 its made to last thats for sure, i can suggest the Corsair LPX kits as a decent choice just make sure DDR4 is compatible with your current CPU/MOBO config.
