Hey everyone. Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here it goes.

I just got my first BSOD in a long time today. It showed a "memory management" error.
I rebooted just fine and ran Memtest. It gave me 3 errors after about 10 seconds. At this point I took out one of the total two RAM sticks and ran Memtest again for 5 minutes with no errors. I tried the other stick of RAM by itself and Win7 would not boot. I didn't even get to the boot screen - just a black screen. It made sense to me that this was the one giving me the errors, so I put the first one back in and booted just fine. I kept testing this seemingly fine RAM stick in Memtest to make sure there were no errors for about 5 minutes. I tried to open Chrome (I know I'm supposed to close everything when running Memtest), and the screen froze. It had not given me any errors beforehand, though. I then tried to reboot, but now I cannot even boot with this RAM block! I get the same black screen as mentioned.

It seems to me that both RAM blocks failing me at the same time today would be a crazy coincidence, so I'm suspecting that something else might be faulty. I have tried putting the RAM sticks in different slots, but to no avail.

Where do I go from here? Do I just buy a new set of RAM or does it seem like there could be an underlying problem?

specs:

i5 2500k stock
ASUS P8P67 pro
GTX 970
Corsair 850w modular PSU
2x 4gb G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 PC12800 1600Mhz
Windows 7

UPDATE:

I got it to boot now by swapping the stick to its original slot again. Now doing Memtest again with no applications running. This is weird as hell. It seems to be running fine now with this 1 stick, tried all the different slots, so it's not a faulty slot. Maybe it was just the 1 RAM stick that was fautly afterall. I will run Memtest overnight and see what happens.
