Has anyone that ordered a Ryzen CPU actually gotten their motherboard? I pre-ordered from Amazon on February 28th and still don't have an estimated delivery date. I've read several articles saying there's a world wide shortage so I was just curious to see If anyone had a lucky rabbits foot and has actually received their board.

I had some ASRock X370 motherboards come in and they sold out before I could eblast my customers, lol! The Ryzen are moving they'd probably be selling better if not for the motherboard shortage. The Ryzen 5's will be out in early April let's hope the problem is over by then.

I don't think they're the only ones that though Ryzen would be a dud. Seems all of the major brands are out of stock around the world. From what I read the early engineering samples weren't that impressive and it wasn't until late in the development cycle that the performance really shined. Guess they thought everyone would just say screw it and stick with intel.

No they didn't think it was going to be a dud, they thought AMD would not have enough CPUs available at 1st so they weren't in a rush to get their Ryzens models ready. Now they are scrambling to get them out there.

The mobo makers knew AMD was releasing in Q1 2017 since at least December. They have had the physical boards since CES. Instead of working on bios and building supply they prioritized the z270 boards. Now they are mad because they delayed working on the x370 boards and are left with a very large potential market. They must know that the first one to release a half decent x370 mobo in quantity will win big. Right now the only board maker doing that is Biostar. Honestly, they made a big mistake and their investors will be pissed knowing they threw all that money away for a hohum intel launch.

Well my saga is over I called Friday the 10th and they said they wouldn't have my motherboard in until the 17th and I'd have it on the 18th or 19th. I said screw that and drove 4 hours to a Microcenter and bought the MSI X370 Pro Carbon. I'm up and running now and man is this machine a beast.

I also cancelled on Friday. Decided to just wait for now until their is good availability. Hopefully it will mean lower prices and a more stable board. I kind of wanted to buy the Biostar since they have stock and reward them for their effort. But I have a hard time justifying getting a Biostar mobo.

I'm not familiar with Biostar so I can't speak to their quality. I just hated having every part for my new build sitting there with one missing piece. When I ordered everything I had no idea there was a shortage. I found out about it 3 or 4 days after I'd gotten all of my parts. I probably would have waited a bit as well although I don't think motherboard prices will come down anytime soon with it being a new platform with ridiculous demand. Overall I'm incredibly happy and now have a PC that I should be able to use for a good 5 years to game at the very least in 1080p

This shortage pi$$ing me off, I almost feel like Intel was trying their best to f... AMD and made a few phone calls, it's not the first time a launch was marred by partner channels, but maybe it will be like Apple and only create more buZz. I've just been buying the rest of the components for my build.

I'm really glad I took the drive. I'm loving my new PC. Just ordered a new monitor so I can game in 1440p and 144Hz. First time I've ever had a computer powerful enough to push something like that. I have to say I'm happy with my MSI board. No major issues except for having to load the XMP profile for the RAM other than that it's been pretty flawless.
