Going back to console gaming (here's why)

A big chunk of the online community, yes. I spend most of my time playing single player games myself and I know of many others who do the same. We are the silent majority because we are often not counted as multiplayer games do as a selling point. What do you think is going to be different about console? It's going to be the same way. Large majority of the online games community will be on 2-3 games, and the rest of the player base will go play single player games.

There are literally thousands of PC exclusive games, have you never been on steam? Just because they are not AAA does not mean they are not exclusive, and many of these (mostly) indie games simply don't get the recognition they should because they aren't beholden to one of the great studios that has the budget to market them (read: Ubisoft, EA, Bethesda, et al).

If you play low-policed multiplayer games then yes hackers are going to be there. It is much easier to hack on a PC than a console, I cannot dispute that point. However, I can say that I've had more games ruined by trolls than I have hackers. And those games I have had ruined by hackers, the hacker is quickly punished. Now, that is from the standpoint of my playing games that are policed either by a set of software or by the community/others in the company. If we're talking about say... the old CoD games, hackers are abundant because those devs do not care about their player base if they've already bought the game. So, if you only want to play CoD, yeah go do it on console; the dev does not care about you.

PC has nearly every game that a console does. Aside from the newer exclusives, obviously, which by and large PC eventually does get (despite what X company says about not porting Y game to PC). If you only want to play those exclusives, there's no reason for you to play on a PC. If you only want to play a couple of AAA titles instead of looking at the breadth of the gaming community then console is the way to go. I realize that sounds snobbish, but that isn't the way I intend it.

That's my two cents about what you brought up as points.

That being said. Gaming is there for you to enjoy it. You can go on and on about PC masterrace and Console masterrace until hell freezes over. There are turn offs and turn ons for different people. Personally? I can't play with a controller. I don't like that you just don't have the same amount of control over your character with a controller that you do with a mouse and keyboard; and many people who have played on both and gotten good with both agree with that statement. And personally, I like having way more options for lower games that don't make it to console because they were indie games; yet they are still very good. Steam is very good for that. For other people? They like controllers more than they like mouse and keyboard, be that because they like the specificity of the controller as a gaming component or be that because they are better with the controller, it comes out to be one and the same. Other people like to play simply AAA titles and don't feel the need to go look to smaller name titles for enjoyment as well.

At the end of the day, if you're enjoying your time playing the games you are on a console, it does not matter what someone else thinks of your choice to play on a console rather than a PC.

What makes you think the "online" community on the consoles is any different?

It's actually far worse if anything.

Those communities you listed are the most popular because the games are the easiest to run on many systems, but that doesn't mean you have to play them.

I think you really need to expand your genre horizons, because consoles have a lot of genres that just do not work on them, and if all you do is "play what's popular" you'll never be happy.

For me, I went from console to PC. I find that the price of admission is much greater. But the lifespan is easier to extend and the price I can find games at is incredible. I usually wait for a Steam sale, humble bundle, etc... to increase my library cheap.

It's important to note that I don't care for most online gaming. I find subscription services to be obnoxious and that I just hate the immaturity that so many other people exhibit. I'll either play single player or, if I like a game enough, I'll load a server for me and my family/friends only.
