7700K questions about voltage

Hello there,
I picked up a 7700K, Asus Maximus IX Hero and Corsair 16GB DDR4 3200MHz.
CPU at all BIOS options at auto was getting around 1.248v(all cores 4.5GHz) at load, and back to 0.727v at 800MHz(idle). Temps are ok with my Noctua D15S around lower 60c at load.


Now I want to find "undervolt" my CPU to the lowest voltage required for turbo of 4.5GHz(not interested to overclock this cpu now). Now I have CPU voltage mode set to manual in BIOS, and value is 1.120v and it boots normally. Did a run of 3DMark Firestrike physics and then Cinebench R15 multithreaded and all passed normally without issues.
My questions:
1. Is it possible that my 7700K can perform normally with this low 1.120v?
2. Should I keep trying to go lower in voltage?
3. If everything I use my PC for behave normally, is there any downside to force CPU to work in low voltage state?

If it's stable at ANY voltage you're good.

You can keep going down and down until it doesn't work.

Less voltage is actually less strain And less heat.

That's how overclocking actually works is getting as little voltage to the core as possible while it's still functional.

You're effectively doing that without actually upping the clock which isn't an issue.

As in yours? I have no idea if it's good in terms of the silicone lottery.

Does it work? Yes? Then it's a good chip.

My opinion? I love this thing. The last chip I had was in an old Asus G750JX laptop. I had a 770M and I have no idea what processor. This thing is outstanding.

Look, let me clarify what I mean. We don't have your chip to test it and verify if it is a "good chip" as far as the silicone lottery.

If you overclocked it and pushed it to see what the limits were and posted results we could check it out.

The true test is does it work? If it does then yes it's a good chip.

I have a problem, I cant seem to get it stable under 1.230 running at stock speed, what is wrong?

Short answer: Kaby lake processors are more power-hungry than skylake ones. You probably shouldn't have it that low.

Update your BIOS, if already newest, you have nothing to do.

Managed to get it down to 1.180. Not too bad, atleast it's under 1.2
