Hey guys, I recently bought a Samsung 850 Evo 1TB Sata 3 SSD, but i'm a little confused on the sata power cable that runs from my power supply, to (hopefully my SSD). I understand I need to buy a Sata 3 cable and where to plug it into my SATA port, but, as I stated before, I'm confused on the sata power cable the comes out of my power supply which is 800w. Does that cable matter? Or no? I want full use out of my SSD.

Number 1 is connected to my current Hard Drive which will remain. But number 2 - Can I hook that into the one slot of my new incoming SSD? (These cables are the ones that run from my PSU to the harddrives. Not the Sata 3 cables). The cables say 2x Sata or something.

Solution
Yes, you can connect the #2 cable into your incoming SSD to power it. All you need is a SATA cable to connect to your motherboard and you will be good to go.

Thank you! My power supply cable says 2x SATA or something. I was worried that meant I couldn't plug it into my SATA 3 SSD.

And having both them connected on the same wire won't slow anything down or nothing?

No that is just for electrical power and that is made to handle more than one drive. You are good to go.
