Got a timeout bsod last night while playing wildlands. Noticed that when I play cpu is at 100%. All Temps are good. I usually sit in the high 70's for fps but when I get into intense fights it dips under 60. I have check all drivers up to date. I reset bios to default all I had on was Xmp. I have played since and havent had the bsod but its only been alittle bit since it originally happened. I have just upgraded from a 970 to a 1070 yesterday as well. Under Task nothing is eating the cpu usage its just mainly the game.

what do you mean 105 CPU Usage? is that 105% ? or temperature? I don't think you can have 105% cpu usage lol. and 105C is extremely hot.

Here's something I found:
The game automatically sets its priority to 'high' in task manager.
Open task manager and set grw.exe priority to 'normal'
a page on some other issues including that one https://nowloading.co/p/fix-ghost-recon-wildlands-crashes-launch-error-performance/4220954

I'm starting to think it is a game optimization issue. Since you have a high end...

That is odd.
Does enabling XMP raise your bclk? It could be causing instability on your processor if it raises it over 100

Enable XMP.
Run the intel Processor diagnostic tool
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792/Intel-Processor-Diagnostic-Tool?product=83419
Open up task manager> performance tab> bottom left> resource monitor.
Play the game. when you see it hit 100% alt tab and check resource monitor sorted by avg cpu. to check what really is using you cpu.
What is the load like while idle? Could be some type of spyware etc.

After enabling XMP I got 105 cpu usage but passed everything on Ipdt. Without it it would only stay at 100. On resource monitor while playing game average 70 cpu but would spike higher this is with xmp off. at idle I am around 2.

I'm starting to think it is a game optimization issue. Since you have a high end CPU, GPU, and an overall well above average system.

Also I don't think disabling XMP is something you should have to do. As long as XMP leaves you bus clock at 100 (Bclk) then it's safe to have it enabled. After all you want to have your RAM running at it's max, that's why you bought it :)

It's possible the test read the extra 5% due to an overclock on the expected clock. The XMP profile may be raising your Bclk causing instability especially considering the watchdog timeout do you have HWinfo installed? https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php

enable xmp, open hwinfo then can you set your power plan settings to high performance run something so that your cpu gets used and post this?

Use the blue arrows on the bottom left to dual screen it upload to tinypic or something.

That Looks like everything is running just fine at stock with the XMP enabled. The voltages, bclk and everything looks fine. Load is spread across the cores evenly.

Basically you get slowdowns on your display because of the CPU starving the GPU.

Are you running the game at a high frame rate and resolution? Can you cap it at 60frames. And see if you get 100% usage again

If you do you should try lowering extra streaming distance and object detail settings. These are heavy on the CPU.

If it still happens.
Try lowering all the settings to medium and seeing what happens.

Chances are it's like the division. When it first came Some people would end up with 100% CPU usage no matter what they dropped their settings to.
Does it happen in other games?
Have you playe the witcher 3? Battlefield1? These are CPU intensive games. If you have and you didn't crap out.

I would say it is simply bad optimization. Wait for update. Try to play at lower settings. I see NVIDIA's test PC ran it with an i7 4790, 980ti, at 1080p and managed 50-60 frames maxed out.

Your setup should have no problems at all. But the game is new and it's a Ubisoft game. I remember when I first bought far cry 3 about a week after it came out. I couldn't even play it at 30 frames on a gtx480 and i7-2720.

Years later, Shortly before I upgraded my desktop I was downloading games I wanted to play when it came and lo and behold that same system managed a smooth 60 frames on the game. Lol I had thought I simply couldn't run it and uninstalled it.

Hey, how did it go? Is your problem fixed?
If so could you please select me as best answer back at the start when I mentioned it was a new game with optimization issues. I would really appreciate it.

It didn't really help to much but I do Believe the game itself is the problem since I have tried many other games and no problems at all. Thank you for the help.
