On 3.7.17 I upgraded my rig's Mobo, CPU and RAM due to a very serious unresolved issue where my PC would only run/recognize 1 of the cores of my CPU. This seemed to fix that issue, and after about a day of use and it working w/o issue, this problem occured. See below for specs of my up to date with the new components build, and my older one as well just in case its needed.

Heres my parts list:

The problem:

I installed the hardware previously mentioned with no real issue. Though I'll mention, since this current error seems to be dealing with my GPU; I had an incredibly tough time getting my 970 out of my old Mobo. It was stuck in the slot and very.. obstinate. The end nearest the HDMI/video ports was lifted without issue, but the side nearest the front of the PC was lodged and had to be 'forced' out with I'd say moderate force. That being said, it was then installed with great ease on the new mobo and seemed to work fine so I don't think it was damaged in the process of removing. Anyways, I installed the parts, installed windows 10, updated the NIC driver, and a couple other drivers manually off a usb for the mobo, and then did the windows update figuring that would find the rest of any missing drivers (though I'm now told that it doesn't always do that.) Computer then runs relatively fine. There seems to be something with the power though where very rarely, the lights on my computer will turn off and the fans will stop, giving off the impression of a power outage, but without actually turning off (this only happened one time prior to the fatal one, with I'd say was about 15 hours of heavy use across 2 days.) When this power outage, that wasn't a power outage, happened the 2nd time, the lights on the PC went off, the fans stopped and the monitor went black for maybe 1-2 seconds and then returned to normal. Except for the monitor. The monitor remained black and when turned on / off would say the 'No DVI Signal.' When I turn the monitor on/off it'll show the ASUS monitor logo, indicating that it does have power and works, it just won't connect to my PC. I really have no idea how to handle this, what's really causing it / how to diagnose it, but it seems kind of common sense that it's the GPU thats driving this error.

I'll try and remain active in replies for further info or anything else, but I'll be at work till later today so I can't provide any pictures or anything like that if required. I really appreciate any help!!

I didn't, went to the drivers page, downloaded all the drivers onto a usb thinking it was 'all' the drivers, not realizing BIOS was in a separate tab lol. I saw that the original mobo bios sometimes had issues with kaby lakes, but if that was the case wouldn't there be issues right away? Like would there normally be expected a delay of error for about a day or two?

Yeah thats what I was reading online earlier today, but it seemed like if that was the issue it wouldn't have even booted, or if it did, had fatal issues as soon as there was any strenuous activity utilizing the GPU. But I was using the PC for a good bit, almost exclusively on mid-high level demanding games with no real issues. There were a couple occasional bouts of FPS drops, reminiscent of the preface to a video card crash, but never actually crashing , but other then that it seemed without issue. If it wasn't the driver that's the issue, what would be your next try?

I'll check those out when I can, the only problem is whether or not I can get a functioning display to do so! The only other computer I have access to is my work PC, which has so many admin rights restrictions I'm surprised I can even go online, but I know that I won't be able to download any drivers on it, or any exe's.

Hey. I got home, reseated the graphics card, and the display turned on when I turned the pc on. It worked for a couple of hours and then the same thing happened, but this time when I restarted the display would turn on too. Booted up a game, and it happened again immediately as I got in. So I checked and my bios version was at B.8 so I flashed to B.9, the most current driver available. Restarts, and then happens again when the game loads in. It seems to be fine outside of one. Any thoughts on a next step to try?
