Hello guys ,

i am going to make a new build , but i wonder is it worth it.
So that's my PC right now :
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690
RAM : 8GB Ballistix Sport DDR 3
Motherboard: Asrock H81M-DGS rev.2
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1070 MSI Gaming X 8G
HDD: 2x 1TB
SSD : 256GB Sandisk Ultra II
PSU: 750W 80Gold *nonmodular (i don't know the vendor XD )

and my new Build that i want to buy is:

CPU: Intel Core i7 7700K 4x 4.20GHz
CPU Cooler : Noctua NH-D15 Tower
RAM : 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2133 CL13 Dual Kit
Motherboard: MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon Intel Z270
HDD: 3000GB WD Red
SSD : 250GB Samsung 960 Evo M.2 2280
PSU : 750 Watt Corsair RMi Series RM750i Modular 80+ Gold
Case : Corsair Carbide Clear 400C Midi Tower + 3x Noctua fans NF-A14 PWM 140x140x25mm 300-1500 U/min 24 dB(A) * because the case comes with two fans from crosshair , so i wanted to fill all of the fans in the case

I will take the GPU , one of the HDDs and SSD from my old PC for the new build .

Btw i was about the buy the same setup , but instead of i7 7700k i was about to take the Ryzen 7 1800x .
So the build will cost around 1200 Euros , i want to ask should i change something about the build like , is it better to take the Aircooler from Noctua or to get some AiO water Cooler . Should i change better motherboard or may be RAM with better one .
I want to get the limit to max around 1500 Euros without GPU .

Edit: Or should i take Ryzen 7 1800x and wait for BIOS updates , game Developers to patch games and Microsoft to fix the Schedule problem.

Adding more RAM, upgrade to a GTX 1080 Ti, buying a Platinum/Titanium PSU and/or an expensive Tempered Glass case if you so fancy, but unless you're going for game streaming or video editing and the like, the extra cores and threads (or the higher MB/s of a NVMe SSD) will most likely do you no good and you'd be wasting a lot of money for little gains.

Well i will game for sure on it , i also stream from time to time on twitch and make videos for youtube . So basically everything . Btw i put and edit in the post "Edit: Or should i take Ryzen 7 1800x and wait for BIOS updates , game Developers to patch games and Microsoft to fix the Schedule problem."

The problem is that i am not sure if i7 7700k is going to be in 2 years as good as now , because i see the new AMD processor to be more future proof than the i7 , but it will take at least half an year the problems with the gaming to be fixed. So really i am sitting in the middle of the cross road and i don't know which way to take :D

Welcome to the joys of PC gaming, mate. ;)

One question: What display or displays are you using?

Thing is, the current setup is plenty good enough for your needs as it stands, you won't get much of a boost by moving up to either an i7 or a Ryzen CPU for games and it'll be a very expensive way to help with only 'hobby' video projects.

If you game on either a very fast 1080 or 1440 screen then you might be able to justify the cost of a GTX1080, but even on that type of panel, the current CPU is plenty good enough.

Like coozie said you are can do everything you want with your current set up. Having said that I'm building a Ryzen 1700x and GTX 1080 build because I wanted better streaming and editing power for the future. Like you I stream and post to youtube so I wanted to leverage the 8 cores and multithreading that Ryzen offers. The downside to Ryzen right now really isn't the Bios issues it's actually motherboard availability. I pre-ordered my board 3 days before launch and it still hasn't shipped. It could be another month before you can get a board with the x370 chip set. If you're looking to build now there really is no other option than Intel.

I am using a two 1080p monitors for now , i know it won't be a big of a boost for me , but i wanted to take off the CPU bottleneck on some games, and to sell the old one until i can , before the new one comes out and the prices fall down. But anyway i want to have more cores/threads , to get a better multitasking performance . My GPU currently is overkill for 1080p , but it will be enough until next year, also i can just buy one more gtx 1070 to make a SLI , so it will be with more performance in most of the games from 1 gtx 1080 . I also want to be able to use PCIe 3.0 , because this motherboard that i am with right now is only with 2.0 . The i5 4690 is locked , so i can overclock it only with the Base clock from the motherboard , which is again not supported , even if i overclock it i will still have the bottleneck on some games and it will not perform as good as 4 core 8 threads CPU or more .

What i want to say is , that i want and i need better computer overall and i will buy it . I just posted in this forum , so you guys may be can advice me , with some other parts or other CPU like the ryzen , or like what cooling will be better , because i will probably try to hit 5 Ghz if i get the 7700k even if i need to delid the CPU so i can change the thermal paste for lower temperatures.

Long story short , i am here for the build and not to change my mind of buying one , because i know why and what for i am doing it .

Anyway thanks :)

Well i live in Germany , and i can get the X370 motherboard , right away , but i really don't know which one , all of them have bugs right now , so i must to wait if i want to buy Ryzen CPU, that's why i wrote in the Build Intel CPU :D

I'm jealous beyond all measure right now. I wish I had my hands on my motherboard so I can finally put together my build. As for which x370 board it's pretty hard to say. Like many motherboards it just depends on what features you want and need not to mention personal brand preference. I wish I could help you select one if you do end up with Ryzen but I'm definitely not a motherboard expert. If I have to wait much longer I may have you buy my board and ship it internationally It may be quicker lol.
