Hi! I'm looking to build a new gaming pc for myself and im trying to save myself too much cost on CPU. GTX 1060 is my preferred GPU to buy but im not too sure if an i3 7100 would be a good pair for it.

And just for the sake of it, I'll list all the parts I'm thinking of buying for the pc, but before that, some info,

- Im from the Philippines and it seems some parts are more expensive here than in the US.
- My budget is P50,000 Philippine Peso max. which is approx. $1000 dollars converted
- Some parts are also harder to find here in the PH. Especially the ITX Mobos
- I need to have WIFI enabled on my PC, I want it to be portable which is why I want to make an ITX build
- Currently, 1 USD = 50.2790487 Philippine pesos

Casing: Cougar QBX -> P2200
Processor: i3 7100 -> P6090
MoBo: MSI B250I GAMING PRO AC -> P6740
PSU: Corsair CS550M 80+ Gold Semi Modular ->P4050
GPU: Zotac GTX 1060 AMP! 6gb -> P13480
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 2x8gb 2400 16gb CL15 (F4 2400C15D 16GVR) -> P6680
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 500gb m.2 -> P8670

Total: P47910 -> 951.84 USD

What do you guys think? Should I get a i5 7400 or something? I dont really care about overclocking the CPU but I want to know your opinions, thanks!

Where are you shopping? Are these pcexpress/pcoptions/pccorner prices? Gilmore, Q.C. has these shops (among others) and they're bunched up together so you can have a list and go from shop to shop asking for a quotation for individual items.

Also, if you're comfortable with building it yourself + buying parts from different shops, you might save a bit (read: hundreds)here and there. Though i'm really curious where you're getting your stuff/prices..

From a quick search online, here are some hits from your list.

PC Corner
INTEL CORE i3 7100 (3.9GHZ, 3MB CACHE LGA1151) 5,898.00
SAMSUNG EVO 850 SSD 500 M.2 8,498.00

PC Express
GSKILLS RIPJAWSV 16GB 2X8GB F4-2400C15D-16GVR 6,300.00

I get the vibe that you want to get into the latest Kaby Lake CPU line, but getting the previous gen is also a possibility here, maybe even getting one second hand.. 'cause they also want to get the Kaby Lake CPUs (heh).

Sample Second Hand
CPU+Mobo Intel i5-6600 6th Gen Skylake + Asus H170M-E D3 10,700.00

Yes its the previous gen, but sometimes there's still value there and its a good bargain.
