I just installed a new HDD in my PC and booted up to find that it didnt appear in the windows file explorer. My first instinct was to boot to BIOS, which I did. The bios was reading the drive and i ran smart tests on it which all came back as 0 errors. I booted into windows and it still wasnt in the file explorer. I checked the device manager and its there. I clicked properties went to volumes and clicked populate. Still not in the explorer. I check for new drivers. Drivers are up to date. Not in the explorer.

Hello... It's an OS security thing... Windows has "security" and you have to give permission to the OS as "administrator" to use/install additional Devices.

1) Right click Computer-Manage-storage-Disk Management.
2) Right click the graphics below for the NEW drive... (*complete partitioning and formatting for the drive if needed).
3) And "Mark Partition as Active"

* If the Drive already has DATA on it.... Just mark the "Partition active" So you don't lose any of it B )
