Intel 750 1.2tb SSD progressively slowing down

intel 750 under windows 10 and a sabertooth x79, initally was getting 2.6GB/s reads and 1.2GB/s writes under windows 10 64bit several months back, but now down to 2.0GB/s reads and 1GB/s writes.

All the latest intel drivers and firmware installed.

Can some one explain this??

That sounds like its within margin of error, different file types and actions can require different processes or more layered data, which can slow down the transfer rate potentially.
Regardless, transfer speeds will always vary, especially as the drive fills up.
