Ram timing not correct when changing ram bricks

So early January, I upgraded my pc with new gpus and more liquid cooling.
Decided as well to up my ram bricks since I've only been running with 8GB the last 2 years.

I bought Corsair Vengeance LP 2x8GB, DDR3, 1600MHz with 10-10-10-27 timings.
At first I messed up and combined my old ones with these (Vengeance LP 2x4GB, DDR3, 1600MHz but with 9-9-9-24 timings) and my pc was acting up all the time resulting in BSOD 5-6 times and eventually completely crashing my system. (due to different timings)
So I went back to using the old ones.
Now I tried running with only the 2x8GB bricks, but my pc is still acting up.
Chrome takes forever to load.
Radeon settings won't load/missing file/program.
Went back to the old ones, and pc runs fine again.

When going into BIOS (which is untouched, everything is pretty much on auto) it tells me that the timings were 9-9-9-24, even tho I were using 10-10-10-27 bricks.
I tried look into the presets that the motherboard has preloaded, but Corsair presets were nowhere to be found.

I thought maybe the mobo would change timings and stuff based on the bricks I use, since it has never been a problem with those that I've used for 2 years now.
BIOS update necessary? Or can I change this myself?

Specs on pc

Mobo: Asus Maximus VII GENE
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K @ 3.40GHz
GPU: 2x RX 480 8GB
OS: Windows 10 - 64bit

I tried that as well, and no luck with that either.
I also tried setting the timings manually, but pc still crashed.
Updated BIOS today, not changing the ram timings automatically which it basically should have.

I'll note it down when I'm trying out the rest of the possibilities there are.
Thing is, this is my only computer, and I really don't want to screw it up like I did last time.
Luckily, I was able to fix it myself, but it took me 1,5 month to do it xD
