Happened to me once when I added a second stick of RAM to one of my builds -- still only one stick registering.

Turns out I hadn't pushed the second stick all the way down in to the slot, the end-clips hadn't "clicked" in to place. So try reseating it. I gave my slot a blast out with an air-blower first, then the stick went straight down and clicked in to place.

If that's not the issue, your new stick of RAM could be DOA or incompatible.
