Hi, I'm planning on getting a new computer, and I've never done it before. I need a little help with coolers. I'm planning on getting the Corsair H Series, and I was wondering if your GPU has build in custom fans, is the cooler still necessary for the GPU?

Solution
The graphics card has its own cooling solution installed, you dont need to purchase anything else for them.

I would also recommend a hard pass on CLCs (closed loop coolers). They are generally loud, expensive, and perform the same as air coolers at half the price.

How can you tell if the cooler is Closed Loop?

Almost any water cooler you pick is going to be a CLC (they all look the same, and half of them are made by the same company).
There arent many open loop coolers. Some examples are the H240x2 or EKWB Predator series.

Depending on your budget its almost always best to get a decent air cooler over water and invest the money elsewhere.

Are double fanned GPU's just as good?
