Just bought a gtx 1070 and installed it and now I get bad lag when I move my mouse. What's going on?

Is this in windows in game or in windows when tabbed out of a game? My 1070 gives me insane input lag when I tab out of a game that is working very hard sometimes which I suspect is due to it being about as much as my coy can handle at the time. If it is happening constantly check your coy utilization in task manager. During idle it shouldn't really be above 30% even for old hardware. Also check you coy temperature in CPUX or HWMonitor. The new card could have really thrown off your thermals
Was having mouse lag in video games with new GTX1070 SC and new i5-8600 CPU. Keyboard actions were fine, but not when moving mouse in-game. Finally gave up and re-installed Windows 10 since my hard drive came from my previous machine. After reloading Windows, reloading motherboard drivers from the disc that came with new motherboard (Gigabyte), and installing video card drivers from EVGA, the problem thankfully went away.
