I have asus H97-plus with i7-4770 3.2ghz. I use cpuid HWMonitor. The mainboard( I'm assuming that's the motherboard) temp is 118C. I've made sure the computer is clean. I don't know if I should buy better fans, better case, new motherboard.
99.999999% likely a false reading or faulty temp sensor.
Over 100c is enough for the built in protection to cut in & the PC would shut down.
If there are no actual problem in use I would ignore it , hwmonitor is hardly the most reliable monitoring software.
The software is just acting strange (it happens). Probably your motherboard does not have temperature sensors and HWMonitor does not know what to report.
