Unable to play sound via headset (doesn't appear in 'Playback Devices')

For some time I've been experiencing problems whenever I was recording my screen. My [strike]headphones[/strike] headset would stop being able to play any sound, until I went into 'Playback Devices' to deactivate and activate it. Today I was experiencing the same problem, and decided to do something about it.

I followed a guide where he deleted some of the sound drivers, and so did I.

Now my [strike]headphones[/strike] headset doesn't even show up in 'Playback Devices' (I do show hidden/deactivates devices)

I've tried reinstalling some sound drivers and the software for my [strike]headphones[/strike] headset (HyperX Cloud 2).
I've also tried resetting my computer, but without luck as well.
My speakers work fine, and the [strike]headphones[/strike] headset works on other computers as well.

I've spend the last couple of hours trying to get this fixed, but no luck so far.
If you have any idea how I can solve this, please let me know, I really need some help :-/

Go to HyperX's site. Uninstall and reinstall your device drivers for your HyperX Cloud2 if need be. Go to your Control Panel, choose Sound, and enable your headset there, you can set it as your default playback and communication device. If that's already been done and still nothing, try opening your Audio Manager (eg Realtek Audio Manager, a common choice found on many boards/builds), and tweak your settings there as well. If that also gets you nowhere, u can also try using a different USB 2-3.1 slot, just in case the problem lies there.

Confirm that the 7.1 mini dac/amp HyperX includes with that unit is indeed working by trying it on another system if the above still yields no results. If worse comes to worse, you could always avoid using the USB mini dac/amp, and plug your headphones into your motherboard or case outlets instead.

Hey man, sorry for not replying to you earlier. I tried this, but without any luck. You were right about the problem lying in the different USB ports. I've created a new thread if you'd like to check it out: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3355728/headset-shuts-usb-ports.html#xtor=EPR-8809

Thanks for your reply :)
