Hey! I just finished building my computer yesterday on hardwood. when i plugged it in I saw that the lights went on and. the fans were spinning. i then went to best buy and bought an insignia hdmi-vga adapter since i don't have a hdmi monitor. once i got home and tried to plug it into the monitor, it would say no signal. this stressed me out more than you would believe, and i thought i wasted all my money for it not to work. anyways, this morning i went to look at it again and i pushed my ram in a bit and I heard a click, rushing to plug in a monitor and see if it worked, it didn't work. I am extremely confused and I don't want to replace my motherboard because it sounds really confusing. Please help me

Computer Specs:
430w EVGA Power Supply
Asia ROG RX 460 Strix
Intel i3-6100
8gigs of aegis ram
240gb ssd from Adata
Gigabyte Asrock Mini H110M-ITC/AC

thanks so much

Remove everything except 1 stick of RAM, the CPU and CPU cooler. And see if it'll boot. Then start adding parts back in. Was you monitor plugged into the 1060 or the motherboard? As it sits now it needs to be in the 1060, if you want to try that before you remove stuff

it could be the adapter, if you have a TV in the house which should have HDMI. Try plug it to the TV to see if it works.
If you have a dedicated graphic card make sure you connect the monitor to the it, not the one from the m/b.

No I plugged it in the graphics card and tried it, then plugged it into my mobo and tried it, both failed.

the ram is in the slot next to the cpu cooler

yes the power plug is in

looking at the video now

thanks

just to be sure, because sometimes misunderstandings can confuse in further investigations.
Did you remove the graphics card completely from the motherboard, so the PCIe slot of the motherboard was empty, while trying to boot with just the motherboard´s graphics output connector?

Did the video cable work before?

reset cmos/Bios by jumper (clrCMOS)
