Can I use DisplayPort as the BIOS console output?

I am building a new system with an ASUS X99-DELUXE II mobo, Intel i7 6800K CPU, and a PNY NVIDIA QUADRO M2000 graphics card, which has only 4 DisplayPort outputs. I can't get any video output with this card, but if I swap it out for a GeForce GTX460 or a GeForce 210. both of which have DVI outputs, then I can get video and therefore can access the BIOS.

Question: Should the PNY NVIDIA QUADRO M2000 be able to function as the BIOS console? Will the BIOS be able to output to DisplayPort?

Maybe the card is a dud, I don't know. All equipment is brand new.

Solution
Resolved - The PNY card came with a nice DisplayPort to DVI adapter. This adapter was the cause of my problems. Once I purchased a DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable I was able to get the card working and now have acce to the UEFI/BIOS.
