Broke my cooler. Can I still use it?

I was installing a Kraken X62 when I overtightened one of the screws so that it broke. The cooler still seems very firmly attached even if only three screws are holding it in place atm. Do you think it's safe to turn on?

NZXT appears to take 2-3 weeks to send a replacement screw to Europe and it's gonna suck if I have to wait all this time.

The CPU is a 7700k.

Well with only 3 screws tightened down it could lead to uneven cooling of the processor.

You could see temp spikes on certain cores or it could even lead to damage depending on how raised it is off of the surface.

I had a few screws loose on my 212 evo cooler and had about 10 degree higher temps on certain cores because the surface of the cooler and the surface of the processor were not properly mated. Once I properly tightened screws it all the temps came back in line with only small variations of about 1-3 degrees.

You run the risk of damaging your processor, I would advise against running your stytem in its current state.

If you must run your system, download monitoring software and let us know your temps. Otherwise, wait...
