Music while gaming low

So whenever I play music (or any sound in this manner) on my laptop while gaming. The music automatically adjust itself to be quieter, no matter what game. Funny thing is too, while playing Overwatch, the music adjust itself while I'm at the menu and not in game. I have an alienware 14 and I though it was Dolby Digital Plus bugging out, but turns out it does the same thing without it. I can't even pinpoint what's causing this. I tried turning off the Nvidia audio controller but it doesn't change a thing. I'm confused and frustrated. I honestly don't know what to do since I don't even know what's causing the issue.

Control panel> hardware and sound> manage audio devices> communications > change setting to "Do nothing" when windows detects communication activity.

what other steps have you tried? Did you reinstall the drivers for your sound card? What program are you using to play your music?

I did that too, still no luck.

I tried disabling and update both audio drivers (NVIDIA Virtual Device and Realtek High Definition Audio) .
I tried disabling Dolby Digital Plus, but the problem persist regardless.
I tried to see if there's any audio controller or application that may influence my sound. I found none so far.

Just so people know, I'm running on a non - activated version of Windows 10. I don't know if it may cause any issues related to this problem.

Thanks for helping out and trying to piece this together. I honestly don't know what to do, I might just format my laptop just to see if it fixes it.

Edit: I used both VLC and Chrome to play music from. They both have the same issue.
