Hi I came home and my mouse and keyboard wouldn't wake up PC. So turned power off and back on and heard five beeps, repeated five times then stopping. Black screen...nothing loaded. I looked at a general chart that said five beeps CPU has failed...what does that mean?

First, do you have more system information, most notably, what kind of motherboard and CPU you have which I hope will lead me to which BIOS/UEFI you have. Beep codes are not universal so we need a little more information.
