upgrading an h60 radiator

i have a Corsair H60 water cooler, would it make any difference swapping/modding the 120mm radiator to a larger 240mm type

so if i went full custom what sort of flow would the pump need to be, just going to cool the cpu at first, keep cost down and keeping it simple, then with a view to upgrade and cool both cpu and gpu

This question really isn't as simple as that because we really don't know what your limitations are on cost and performance expectations.

Only you really can have that input and for that you need to understand the principles of liquid cooling. Please see the watercooling sticky for more info.
