Hey guys been a while since I have been on here but I'll turn to you guys as my number 1 source of help.

https://ibb.co/bO2uAa

I'm trying to figure out why the idle temp on my fx 8350 is idling at almost 50 degrees. I'm running a lot of heavy load games and sometimes the system will just shutoff from what I presume is a overheat while gaming.

Yes I have put an overvoltage on the couch but not a heavy one.

Here is another image

Any help would be awesome!

how many case fans do you have? your bios shows 0 hooked up to the motherboard

also 1.45 volts is what I use to get my 8350 to 4.8ghz with liquid cooling and will explain why your cpu is so hot.

21.5 should be running really close to stock voltage if not on stock voltage. like +.00125 added volts depending on your cpu

Because your PC is not at idle in BIOS.

What does AMD's Overdrive http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations/software-technologies/technologies-gaming/over-drive say? http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2122665/understanding-temperature-amd-cpus-apus.html can help you to understand that program better if you have any trouble with it.

"what I presume is a overheat while gaming."

Do you use MSI Afterburner https://www.msi.com/page/afterburner in your game so there isn't any assumptions involved? I can look to my CPU and GPU loads and temperatures in addition to clocks and system RAM usage in addition to VRAM usage. And that's just a wee tiny bit of what MSI Afterburner can do for you.

Regardless of light or heavy more of a current will result in increased temps.. The over-volt suggests an OC which would explain things a bit more.

Have you check your Event Viewer after the crash?

Does it crash in all games?

How long before it crashes?

What is "could temps"?:)

An aftermarket cooler may help.

More than likely your system is unstable do to an OC. No need to overvolt without an OC.

And now I see 4.3GHz.

Your temps are normal. Your OC is unstable.

Let me be a little more clear.

I ment cpu temps.

I have a Evo hyper 212 could cooler.

So I was under 5he impression that to increase the ratio to 21.5 would require sending more juice to the cpu

If I'm wasting my overvoltage by not having an adequate Oc what can I realistically over clock to make the voltage worth it?

Btw mobo is a msi 970 gaming
Fx 8350 black edition.
Gtx 970 gigabyte g1 gaming
And using a corsair 850w psu

The event viewer doesn't tell me what's causing the crash.

It only crashes when I play 1 game and it's very rare

I find that taking the side of the case off stops the crash.

I just cleaned out the right of dust and debris which reduced the temps by a degree or two
