Hello..i hv gtx 1080 founder edition and i just want to know that What does your custom fan speed curve look like?
Noise doesn't bother me (100% is obviously pretty loud). But I'm curious about whether running the fan at all times full speed 100% will have any meaningful impact on the lifespan of the card.!

Just tell me what custom fan curve do u set?only on gtx 1080

does reference card need bios update or it can be updated by nvidia driver i hv msi gtx 1080 fe whenever i try to update the bios from their website it gives me error live update 6

I use afterburner. After playing with it for a while I realized that leaving it on the default fan curve is about as good as anything else I set.
40% if temp is ≤ 30c, 50% at 50c, 80% at 80c and 100% if temp is ≥ 90c. Full load 79% at 79c. Honestly the stock coolers on these reference, er, "founders edition" cards kinda suck, (no pun intended) especially if you plan to OC with it. As far as running at 100% all the time I don't see how that would have any meaningful impact on the lifespan of your card, but it might have a meaningful impact on your sanity, the fan drives me bonkers.

the idea of the fan curve is keep it spinning as slow as possible and when load of lets say, 60°c is reached, go to 40 or 60% of maximum fan speed

form there, you decide how fast you will let the fan spin and how much you enjoy that turbine on that jet about to take off is fun for you

I use asus GPU tweak 2 settinges at 20c 20%/30c30% at 40c45% at 60c62% at 70c 95%,the fans are spinning at 4300rpm on full blast and jet engines is the correct name to use,I like to have my gpu fans spinn 600-800 rpm at low load typical temp at ambient air temp 28c is 29c on the gpu ,and when tings start happening(gameing) the fans turn on fast.Max temp at playing bf4 for hrs is around 56 c
