Hi. I noticed that when I play some graphically intense games, my PC just restarts. I've only seen happen in 3 games so far and its, Grand Theft Auto 5 (Which does it occasionally, not all the time), Dragon Age Inquisition (When beating the first big boss and closing the rift) and in Assassin's Creed Unity (When browsing the menus for too long, it's odd, I know.)

There is no prior indication when it is about to restart, one moment I'm playing the game, the next my screen turns black and it reboots. There is no blue screen of "death" or anything like that, it just restarts.

My PC specs are:

AMD Fx-8320e
EVGA Ge-force GTX 960 4 GB SSC
ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 Mother Board
8 GB of RAM (Not really sure which)

And now for the fun part. Let's talk about the PSU. Now I bought this computer used, when it had a GTX 550 Ti and a AMD Phenom II X4 955 I believe. I've swapped out the motherboard, Graphics card and CPU, but i have yet to swap out the PSU, Hard Drive or the RAM yet.

I've ran that windows diagnostic test on the RAM and apparently it all checks out OK. The hard drive runs fine as well. The power supply (I wish I knew the brand) is 680 watts and it is gold certified.

Now this PSU came with the original PC that i bought used and i believe it was designed to properly power the 550 Ti. Is it possible that the PSU, although it is 680 watts, may not be applying enough juice to the GPU?

I got this PC about 2 and a half years ago, and the owner of it originally had it for about a year, so that would make the PSU at least 3 and a half to 4 years old.

I haven't seen a restart in any other game other than the 3 mentioned earlier. I play games such as League of Legends, CS:GO, Rocket League, Shadow Of Mordor, Elder Scrolls Online, The Forest, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, and a bunch of other games to name a few. I generally play around medium to high settings.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

I've looked everywhere, tried so many things but the problem still persist. Please help me. Anything is appreciated . Thanks.

I've also checked to see if anything was overheating and the temps looked fine, around 30 degrees Celsius idol for GPU and CPU, and no more than 75 degrees Celsius when being played.

Alright. You won't beleive what I found out. So I did a graphics card stress test using FurMark, and about 3 seconds in my PC restarts. Now we know it is either a Graphics card or PSU issue. I know my GPU is fine, so I open my case back up and take a look at my PSU.

I look at the brand name and it reads "Blue Star." I think "Huh I have never heard that before."

But then I notice something. The word "Blue" in the name, doesn't quite look like it belongs, It appears to be a sticker over the actual name which reads "EchoStar." I look up this PSU and apparently it is a very crappy PSU THAT DOESN'T PERFORM WELL UNDER TOO MUCH LOAD!!!!

THE PERSON WHO SOLD ME THIS COMPUTER WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO HIDE THE NAME "ECHOSTAR" BY PUTTING A STICKER THE SAME FONT AND SIZE AS THE NAME, SO IT WOULD READ "BLUESTAR."

I looked up BlueStar and apparently it is a slightly better PSU then EchoStar but it still sucks.

Here is a picture I took before I removed the Sticker. I really hope I'm not wrong about this whole conspiracy.
