I have just got a new PC in the works and one of the things I want to improve on in internet I am currently running on a ADSL 2+ in AUS and for the past 3 years I have been using a crappy wifi card. So I am looking into new ways to run the internet. Now most people would just say Ethernet well here is my problems/needs:

1. Has to be fast
2. I cant run a Ethernet cable though the house
3. Its about 16 steps from the router to my PC
4. My house is in 2 parts. The New Part which is on a separate electricity system to the old part my PC is in the new part and I don't want/will not move it and the router is in the old part and cannot be moved.
5. On the WiFi I will mostly be gaming and streaming.

Is there any way to get a fast internet speed. I am looking to use some form of Ethernet over power if that will work in my house (remember the setup) but If someone can find a really good WiFi card/USB that I can use that is almost as fast as Ethernet I am happy to use that too.

Thanks in advance Daniel

You have limited your options quite a lot. Pretty much the only realistic one left if Moca but you must have cable tv coax in both locations to do that.

Your wireless is extremely bad, it is strange that it is that low but if the walls of the house are real dense it can eat a lot of wireless signals.

You will have to be careful with a connection even if it was connected via ethernet. If you have multiple people sharing the bandwidth you will likely have issues running games with that small a connection.

I know!. If you mean speed on my wireless its:
4mbps down and .8mbps up (On ethernet)
on wireless its 1.9mbps and .07mbps up
