I bought the MSI 970 a little over a year ago on the December of 2015. About 2 weeks ago the fans on my MSI 760 were being fairly loud which was weird because I usually never heard my computer at all. The same day a burning smell started coming from my computer which alarmed me. After this continued for a few days and the activity on my computer lessened I thought getting a new graphics card would solve the problem. Bought a gtx 1050. The burning smell continued but the fan was no longer heard. After plans got canceled with friends I decided to play a game of overwatch competitive to kill time before going to sleep. My computer completely shut off on me. I had suspensions it was my power supply the same day I installed my 1050 because of the burning smell. I haven't touched my computer in a little over a week and after a friend swung by with an old power supply and I started to take out my old one I noticed something that I hadn't seen while installing the 1050. There's a dark puddle which my friends are saying it's my motherboards capacitors. Just want y'alls opinion on if I'm fucked or not. I know I messed up a lot through this. Buying a part before diagnosis and using while there was still a problem.

Yea, both with the 760 and 1050 my FPS dropped or was freezing up for a bit. When ever this started happening that's when I'd turn off my computer and get off for a bit
