Hey im trying to figure out what is better to do new gpu or processor with motherboard and ram.
My setup:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3970X CPU @ 3.50GHz
Socket 2011 LGA (0x2)

Asus P9X79 LE (ddr 3 ;/)
Intel X79 rev. 06
x2 Kingston KHX1600C10D3/8GX DDR3

Geforce GTX Titan 6GB
Code name GK110 rev A1

Power sup: Corsair HX750

Main issue is under 30 fps on medium - med high settings on newer games with resolution 2560x1440 so i need to change something to have 40-50 on atleast high settings.

Would the newest gtx 1080ti work well with current processor or different gpu would boost performance in games ? Or should i look in new processor direction?

Edit - gpu on load stays on 80 C is that the problem ?

Big thanks for all the help
Best regards ;)

an original titan is basically a gtx 780 ti

it should have no problems with high settings 1440p ~60 fps

do you monitor cpu temps?

motherboard bios/drivers up to date?

newest drivers for the gpu?

you most likely need to overclock the cpu, sandy is long in the tooth

The way i read on the net processor overclock itself on stress up to 4.0 GHz, just noticed gpu gets 80+ C (i keep my pc clean all times) need to check bios updates, gpu drivers up to date (thanks to gf exp app).
Can it be that gpu is damaged ?
How would a GTX 1080 Ti work with my processor ?

Get a good CPU cooler if you dont have one already, and overclock your CPU - its still a good one, just could do with a bit more clock speed, then you will be free to ugprade the graphics card.

80'c on load is pretty normal for that card.

A 1080 Ti would work and be a big upgrade for games. I would suggest getting the newest bios update for your motherboard first though.
